Biological wastewater treatment is often associated with municipal wastewater treatment. However, aerobic and anaerobic treatment of industrial wastewater is also common and often necessary to meet allowable discharge concentrations. This training course will provide an overview of the different biological treatment technologies commonly utilized in industrial applications and municipal wastewater treatment. Fundamentals of biological treatment, equipment requirements and selection, typical operation and maintenance issues, and new and emerging technologies will be discussed.
